Wuhan’s Main History
With 3,500-year-old Panlongcheng ruins, Wuhan was already a major southern hub during the Spring & Autumn and Warring States periods. In the Ming & Qing dynasties it was praised as “the most prosperous place in Chu”. Hankou and Wuchang merged into the city of Wuhan in 1927; Wuhan was liberated on 16 May 1949 and is now the capital of Hubei and central China’s core metropolis.

A national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, it is vast and comprises multiple areas. The picturesque lakes and mountains make it an ideal place for citizens to relax and tourists to visit. The East Lake Greenway is even the longest 5A-level urban core area lakeside greenway in China.

A renowned institution of higher learning, it not only has a strong academic atmosphere but also attracts a large number of tourists with its quaint and elegant architecture and beautiful campus environment. The cherry blossoms in spring and maple leaves in autumn are particularly charming.

Hankou River Beach:

A famous scenic spot in Wuhan, it is vast and adjacent to the Yangtze River. Walking along the river beach at night, visitors can enjoy the splendid scenery of the dazzling lights on both sides of the river and the Yangtze River Bridge.

Hankouli:

It has restored representative buildings and cultural forms such as Hanzheng Street from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China and is a tourist street mainly displaying the history and culture of Hankou. It brings together many time-honored brands and historical and cultural attractions.

Site of the Wuchang Uprising Military Government:

Also known as the Red Building, it was the location of the Hubei Military Government established after the Wuchang Uprising of the Revolution of 1911. It has important historical value and is listed as a key cultural relic protected at the national level.

Yangtze River Bridge:

A magnificent bridge spanning the Yangtze River, it is one of the iconic architectures in Wuhan. With continuous traffic on the bridge and rushing waters below, it showcases the modern urban style of Wuhan.

Mulan Grassland/Mulan Tianchi:

These attractions are located in the outskirts of Wuhan and are characterized by natural scenery and recreational activities. Mulan Grassland boasts vast grassland landscapes and is suitable for horseback riding, archery, and other activities; Mulan Tianchi is famous for its scenic landscapes and abundant amusement facilities.
