Harbin’s Main History (≤100 words)
Known as “Alejin” under the Jin Dynasty in 1097, Harbin opened as a treaty port after the 1858 Treaty of Aigun. The 1903 Chinese Eastern Railway turned it into an international trading hub. Liberated in 1946, it is today the capital of Heilongjiang Province, famed as the “Ice City” and “Oriental Moscow”.
